Our Mission

<aside> 🔥 To design the thermal control of the satellite, ensuring all components are maintained within the allowable temperature limits for all operating modes of the vehicle, in all of the thermal environments they may be exposed to.

The thermal team is concerned with maintaining a steady operating temperature of the CubeSat in a nice comfortable range of 0-60°C. This way, we don't accidentally freeze or bake our internal components. Although a PCB cooked to perfection may sound delicious, it is hard to do science with.

The thermal team does a lot of research, testing, and simulations. Like, a LOT of simulations. This is the thermal and structural simulation software from ANSYS. They're a huge engineering simulation company. We'll be using Siemens NX because that's what we got a license for. The below gif demonstrates how hard you would need to slap a chicken in order to cook it.
