This page outlines all the current and active projects on the Thermal Subsystem. It serves as an onboarding tool to introduce new members to the various projects available.

The thermal team must conduct orbital simulations of the satellite to determine our thermal design and ensure it is adequate. This is done using Siemens NX, an industry standard Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tool. Working in NX involves generating meshes of parts, applying relevant properties (thermo-optical properties, heat loads, etc.), specifying orbits, and analyzing results.
Completed: high-fidelity simulations
Next steps: model FINCH on NX using the new CAD, find ways to work iteratively and quickly on NX, model the internal components of FINCH to determine any additional internal thermal control
