Welcome to the team! This guide will get you up to speed on Mechanical.

Responsibilities

The Mechanical subsystem is responsible for the structural development of the Satellite.

Skillsets

Below is a list of skills obtained by the Mechanical team, which new members will obtain while on the team:

• Mechanical Engineering.
• Modelling and Drawing in SOLIDWORKS
• Simulation testing
• Write mechanical assembly and testing documents/reports.
• Inter-subsystem communication.
• Understand and apply launch limitations.

Onboarding Process

1. Join the #mechanical channel on Slack. Introduce yourself!
2. Get familiar with the Mechanical page.
3. Take a quick look at the current phase we are on: FINCH Phase C.
4. After going through the onboarding process, inform the team lead such that a meeting can be arranged to see what projects you would be interested in joining.
5. Welcome aboard!

Logistics

The team meets every Saturday in-person from 2-3 PM. Work sessions continue after 3 PM until your discretion. Our meetings are held in BA B024 (Bahen building).

In your first meeting with the team, please bring your laptop so we can familiarize you with some of the software we use!
