Soldering Station Usage

Soldering Station

• Never store food and drink on or beside the soldering station
• Never consume food or drink in proximity to the soldering station
• After using the soldering station, leave it clean and better than you found it!

While Soldering

• Always use adequate ventilation to remove soldering fumes
• Avoid inhalation of fumes while soldering
• Always return the iron to the stand when not in use — never put it on the workbench
• You may wish to use PPE such as safety glasses to prevent solder spatter from causing injury
• Use tools such as vices and third hands to prevent burns while soldering

After Soldering

• Tin the soldering iron tip prior to storage
• Turn off all soldering equipment
• Discard soldering debris (excess wires, trimmed leads, etc) in the Solder Waste bucket
• Wipe down soldering area with IPA or water and a towel or wipe to remove soldering dust
• Wash your hands, especially prior to eating or drinking
