Description
Detailing the criteria, specifications, and constraints of the Sensor-Model. These requirements will outline the functionality and performance of this project.
See below for the process of writing engineering requirements:
Requirements Engineering
What is a Sensor-Model:
The physical sensor model incorporates the internal parameters of the imaging payload as well as the exterior orientation parameters of the satellite itself to be able to describe a key geometric relationship.
- Relationship between image coordinates to object (Earth) coordinates
Application of the FINCH Sensor-Model
- Spatial calibration
- Provide basis for quality control of spatial information after launch
- Over the duration of a mission, internal and external biases can arise due to manufacturing, thermal effects, and aging of sensor components which can affect the accuracy of the relationships described by the original sensor model
- Recalibration from the original model can then be calculated from photogrammetry techniques
- Photogrammetric calibration
- Provide basis for spectral-spatial registration allowing for scientific information to be taken from our satellite with improved accuracy
- Alignment of ground-truth and remotely sensed data
- Orthorectification
- Geolocation
- Georeferencing
- Block-Bundle Adjustment
- RPC coefficients can be solved for using the physical sensor model to be provided with components of the physical sensor model in the imaging metadata
- This allows for open source use of our satellite imagery
