02STK Installation Instructions

Prerequisites

  1. The following instructions for STK installation are specific to those with a Windows machine, STK will NOT work on MacOS. However, you can still use STK through remote access to the UTAT CAD machine. The program is already installed on that machine, so all you would have to do is directly launch it.
  2. Anytime that you want to open STK and use it on your personal machine, you will need to be connected to the OpenVPN

How to install STK on your personal machine and connect to the license server****

  1. Go to https://analyticalgraphics.force.com/identity/s/login/SelfRegister and register for a personal AGI account, fill out the required information, then under account preferences, make the following selections:

    Select the link in the confirmation email from AGI to confirm your account.

    1. Sign into your account, go to https://support.agi.com/downloads/4/ and under STK Enterprise download Systems Tool Kit (STK) Pro (v12.5.0).

      Note: If you would like additional functionality, you may also download Systems Tool Kit (STK) Premium (v12.5.0) and Systems Tool Kit (STK) Enterprise (v12.5.0). All packages are already installed on the UTAT machine if you are using remote access.

  2. Follow the instructions in the Readme.htm file located in your download folder in order to install the STK functionalities that you’d like.

  3. The following window will appear when you run the install.exe file. Make the following selections then click “Install”:

  1. Accept all the default options in the InstallShield Wizard, and make sure that your destination folder is C:\Program Files\AGI\STK12 (this should be the default).

  2. Once your installation is complete, you should see the following window, click Finish, you may then be prompted to restart your system:

  1. You can now launch STK 12 (the app will likely have shown up on your Desktop or you can search for it from your search bar). The first time that you launch the app, you may see the following pop up, this appears because we had to make firewall exceptions on the license server machine in order for STK to work, click Allow access:

  1. You may also see the following message the first time that you launch STK 12, select OK and the Ansys Client Licensing Settings app will launch:
