The OBC has an RS485 Transceiver that we may use for ADCS. This is component U312 on OBC, part number: ISL83490IBZ-T. We just want to test that it works.
You’ll be using another RS485 transceiver connected to the RPi (Raspberry Pi) to test this. So the RPi RS485 transceiver will convert serial data into RS485 signals. We want to pass this through the transceiver on the OBC which will convert the RS485 signals back into UART. There are many ways to test that the chip is working. One way is to just connect the RX and TX lines out of the transceiver on the OBC to UART TX and RX pins on the RPi. It would also be a good idea to probe the RS485 lines.
