Requesting images

Step 1: Login to the Observation request portal

• NOTE: Periodically you will be required to change the password

Step 2: Navigate to the Planning and Submission Tool

Step 3: Select the proposal and product type

• Note: we have two proposals to image over Innovation Farms (the first draft and the revised draft) which were both approved. Each proposal is allowed 10 image requests (as of July 2024 we have used 1)

Step 4: Select the site location

• The central coordinates to enter for the Innovation Farms site is: Latitude: 50.0419° Longitude: -97.436°
• You’ll be prompted to set the radius around the central coordinates, and to add a label to the selected site (something like InnovationFarmsFields, just something you’ll recognise)

Step 5: Select the imaging time window and other details about the pass.

• They suggest setting a wide window of time to maximise the number of attempted passes, since some will have issues like clouds. (For the May 2024 trial, I set it to 10 days before and 10 days after the target day)
