GrabCAD is a a version-control software for CAD models. Used by the team to house our structural models. Used by #optics to house our CODE V design files as well.

Onboarding

1. Head to the GrabCAD website to make an account.
2. Download and install the GrabCAD Workbench Desktop App and login.
3. Ask the GrabCAD workspace admin (likely the #structures lead) to be added to the relevant project.
4. Once added, you’ll see a new entry for the project you were added onto in the GrabCAD Workbench Desktop App.
5. Select a local folder to sync the cloud project folder to. You may sync a subset of the project contents or all of it, depending on what your team requires.

GrabCAD will now version-track any new files/change added to your local synced folder. To commit changes, head back to the GrabCAD and sync to the cloud project. When prompted for a commit message, be sure write something sensible.
