Recommendation Letter Options

Reimbursement Guidelines (to be finalized before August 2025)

Options:

  1. Everyone affiliated with Space Systems gets reimbursed the same dollar amount, as much as possible. All funding sources are pooled.
  2. Everyone who is an active member of the team gets reimbursed the same dollar amount, as much as possible. All funding sources are pooled.
  3. Everyone who directly contributed to one of the papers/poster/talk is reimbursed as much as possible, the same dollar amount. Any leftover value is evenly distributed amongst all other active members of Space Systems.
  4. People who received grants they individually applied for are fully reimbursed the value of said grant. All members, via mechanisms 1, 2, or 3, are reimbursed as much as possible, an equal dollar amount. Any leftover individual grant money (if the individual is now 100% reimbursed) is evenly distributed amongst all remaining members.
  5. Some combination of the above, using percentages. Options:
    1. Those not directly contributing to paper receive some percentage of reimbursement value that contributors do.
    2. Those who applied for and received an individual grant are entitled to some percentage of its value. The remaining value is equally distributed amongst others, by corresponding mechanism.

Clearly, there are two questions to answer:
