In FINCH, all components connected to the On-Board Computer (OBC) need a defined Firmware Interface, which is described by Drivers.

This document provides guidelines for developing any Software Components in an effective manner.

Team Structure

Each Project Team consists of

• Firmware Design Lead
• Firmware Design Lead
• (Optional) Firmware Members. In teams with one person, said person also takes on the responsibilities of the Firmware members.

For Firmware Interface Projects, the team also consists of Leads or Appointed General Members from the Interface System.

Planning

Planning phase aims to provide a complete picture of the firmware that the team will be developing. To assist, all the parts of the of the respective firmware component should be finalized. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Functions
  • Signatures: Name, Arguments, Return Values
  • Descriptions
• Enumerations
• Structures (brief description, with members and member types)
• Global Variables
• Errors (Log to Firmware Error List)

The Firmware Design Lead is encouraged to set up weekly meetings with relevant System contacts, to aid in the completion of the .
