Description

A brief description of the Story, relevance to its Epic (), and what its outcome shall look like

This Story covers the on-orbit characterization of dead and stuck pixels in the FINCH hyperspectral imager. The activity supports the 🌖 Mission Operations and Calibration Phase, ensuring long-term radiometric data quality.

The objective is to identify, classify, and track defective pixels that arise from radiation damage or sensor degradation in orbit. The characterization will enable ground-based correction of these artifacts in subsequent data products.

Preliminary plans involve imaging a uniform radiometric target (e.g., desert or ocean surface) to isolate pixel-level anomalies through statistical and visual inspection.

Story Checklist

A validated on-orbit procedure and accompanying dataset identifying dead, stuck, and hot pixels across spectral bands. Outputs will feed into the Data Processing pipeline for automated pixel-mask correction and performance trending over mission lifetime.
