Description

There was an attempt last summer (2022) to obtain information from each subsystem about the data they are trying to collect and how long they wish to store that data. The project was unsuccessful last time as subsystems did not have that information ready at the time.

This project is being revived as the information collected here is vital to determining memory requirements for OBC. Even if subsystems do not have all the final details ready, CDH will work with them to calculate a rough estimate based on subsystem requirements.

Acceptance Criteria

• This story can be closed if and only if we have answered the following questions for ADCS, OBC, Pay-Firm, Thermal, Optics, EPS, and RF
  • What subsystems use this data
  • Type of data / rough idea of data format
  • How often we need to collect it?
  • How long we need to keep it?
  • Why we need to keep it?
  • What is the negative consequence if we accidentally lose the data?

The following link is to the spreadsheet where we tried to consolidate all of the information in the previous Data Budget project attempt. The information is very likely to be outdated, however it should give a sense as to the information that will be collected.
