Ansys software has proven indispensable for streamlining the design process at UTAT-Space Systems. Leveraging a suite of Ansys tools including STK, HFSS, and Zemax, we've significantly enhanced our capabilities.

STK has emerged as a cornerstone in our Missions Design Process. It played a pivotal role in analyzing the initial operation of our pioneering mission, HERON Mk II - the first Canadian satellite entirely conceptualized and funded by students. With subsequent missions like FINCH, STK continues to be instrumental for mission analysis, simulation, and attitude planning.

In parallel, HFSS is currently empowering our Radio Frequency team to perform antenna designs for both the FINCH satellite and our ground station across various bands including amateur radio, S-band, and GNSS.

Moreover, Zemax has become an invaluable tool for our optics team, facilitating the intricate design of the optical payload for FINCH's eyes.

As our design process continues to evolve and refine, with the anticipated launch of FINCH slated for Q4 of 2026, the Ansys software suite remains an integral component of ongoing development. With each phase of the project, from initial conception to finalization, we anticipate leveraging these tools to their fullest potential.
